Dr. Lauren Cobb is an accomplished educator and school leader whose passion for learning was ignited at the age of five, when her father gifted her a chalkboard for Christmas. With her siblings as her first students, she began a journey in education that has spanned nearly 30 years.
Dr. Cobb launched her professional career in 1998 at Ronald McNair Sixth Grade Center in University City, and has since served in a remarkable range of roles: high school counselor, Federal Grant Coordinator for college readiness at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, Professional Development Coordinator for Riverview Gardens School District, and Career and Technical Education Coordinator for North and South Technical High Schools.
She has also served as Assistant Principal at Normandy Middle School, as Principal of La Salle Charter Schools, and is currently Interim Principal of Normandy High School.
Throughout her career, Dr. Cobb has remained steadfast in her commitment to marginalized and underrepresented students in urban communities. She is a passionate advocate for equitable teaching and learning, ensuring every student is prepared for postsecondary success, whether through college, trade/technical school, career, or military service.
Her guiding belief is simple and unwavering: every student deserves access, exposure, and opportunity.
Dr. Cobb also understands that transformational leadership begins in the classroom. She credits the passionate, committed educators she has worked alongside as a continued source of inspiration and growth, proof that great teachers don’t just change students’ lives; they shape the leaders who carry that mission forward.
From a childhood chalkboard to the principal’s office, Dr. Lauren Cobb has spent her life doing exactly what she was called to do: open doors for those who need them most, and never stop learning along the way.
